Overview
The B00BM2 is a micro-miniature IEPE teardrop accelerometer built on a piezoelectric ceramic shear structure with a built-in micro impedance converter that turns the charge signal into a low-impedance voltage output, with excellent long-term stability and repeatability. With 2 mV/g sensitivity and a ±2,500 g range it is the ±2,500 g model in the family, a 1.5 g stud-mount teardrop for high-level vibration and moderate shock on small parts. Typical uses include PCB and electronics testing, ESS, shock and high-level vibration on small components and structures in confined spaces.
The built-in IEPE circuit runs from any 2–20 mA constant-current source with an 8–12 V bias, and the sensitivity temperature response is −0.07 %/°C. The laser-welded titanium-alloy teardrop housing measures just 15.7 × 8.5 × 5.1 mm and weighs 1.5 g, so it adds almost no mass to small or light test articles. An integrated male M3 mounting stud screws straight into a tapped hole or stud base for a stiff, repeatable mount with no adhesive, and the low-profile M3 side connector keeps the cable exit close to the surface.
Why engineers choose the B00BM2
Minimal mass loading
At 1.5 g and 15.7 × 8.5 × 5.1 mm, the B00BM2 barely changes the response of PCBs, small components and light structures, so what you measure is the structure, not the sensor. Fits where larger sensors cannot.
Stud mount, no adhesive
An integrated male M3 stud gives a rigid, repeatable mount that transmits high frequencies cleanly (resonance ≥ 60 kHz) and lets the sensor be moved between tapped locations in seconds, with a 10-32 mounting thread version available. M3 side connector for a low-profile cable exit.
Built-in IEPE electronics
Shear-mode piezoceramic with a built-in impedance converter: 2–20 mA excitation, 8–12 V bias, spectral noise of 200 µg/√Hz at 100 Hz and 0.005 g rms broadband resolution, rated to 4,000 g rms vibration and 8,000 g pk shock. Response to 10 kHz.
