Overview
The C01BM1 is a charge-mode (PE) miniature accelerometer built on a piezoelectric ceramic shear structure with a wide-bandwidth frequency response and excellent long-term stability and repeatability. With 4 pC/g charge sensitivity and a ±2,500 g range it is the 4 pC/g teardrop member of the family, rated to +250 °C with a ±2,500 g range for small hot structures. Typical uses include PCB and small-component testing at high temperature, ESS, exhaust and turbocharger vibration and modal work on light structures in confined spaces.
With no built-in electronics the sensor works from −50 °C to +250 °C and pairs with any charge amplifier, which sets the low-frequency limit of the system. Shape-memory alloy fasteners keep the shear structure stable and reliable, and the laser-welded titanium-alloy housing measures just 15.7 × 8.5 × 5.1 mm and weighs 2 g, so it adds almost no mass to small or light test articles. It mounts with adhesive and carries an M3 side connector.
Why engineers choose the C01BM1
Minimal mass loading
At 2 g and 15.7 × 8.5 × 5.1 mm, the C01BM1 barely changes the response of PCBs, small components and light structures, so what you measure is the structure, not the sensor. Adhesive mounting for fast installation on any flat surface.
Charge mode, +250 °C
No internal electronics means nothing to overheat: the C01BM1 runs continuously at +250 °C and pairs with any charge amplifier or charge-input DAQ, with 90 pF capacitance and ≥ 10¹¹ Ω insulation resistance for a clean, stable charge signal.
Shear-mode piezoceramic
Shear structure with shape-memory alloy fasteners gives a ±5% response from 1 Hz to 6.5 kHz (±10% over 0.5 – 10k Hz) with resonance ≥ 33 kHz, 1% non-linearity and ≤ 5% transverse sensitivity, rated to 3,000 g rms vibration and 4,000 g pk shock.
