Overview
The B06BM9 is a miniature single-axis IEPE modal testing accelerometer with a built-in micro-impedance converter that turns the piezoelectric charge signal into a low-impedance voltage output, with exceptional long-term stability and repeatability. With 100 mV/g sensitivity and a ±50 g range it is the most sensitive model in the family, with 100 mV/g, ±50 g and a 4 µg/√Hz noise floor for low-level modal work on light structures. Typical uses include modal testing of small, light structures, PCB and electronics testing, ESS and low-level vibration in confined spaces.
The micro-miniature built-in IEPE circuit runs from any 2–20 mA constant-current source with an 8–12 V bias. The laser-welded titanium-alloy HEX 8.3 × 8.3 × 14.3 mm hex housing weighs just 2.0 g, so it adds almost no mass to the small structures it is designed for. An integrated 5-40 male stud screws straight into a tapped hole or stud base for a stiff, repeatable mount torqued to 0.6 N·m, and the side-exit 5-44 connector keeps the cable close to the surface and clear of neighboring sensors in dense modal arrays.
Why engineers choose the B06BM9
Minimal mass loading
At 2.0 g and HEX 8.3 × 8.3 × 14.3 mm, the B06BM9 barely changes the modes of PCBs, small components and light structures, so the frequencies and damping you measure belong to the structure, not the sensor. Dense arrays fit where full-size sensors cannot.
Stud mount, side connector
An integrated 5-40 male stud gives a rigid, repeatable mount that transmits high frequencies cleanly (resonance ≥ 35 kHz) and lets the sensor be moved between tapped locations in seconds, with a low-profile side-exit 5-44 connector. Mounting torque 0.6 N·m.
Built-in IEPE electronics
Shear-mode piezoceramic with a micro-miniature impedance converter: ±5% response from 1 Hz to 9 kHz (±10% over 0.5 – 10k Hz), 0.0001 g rms broadband resolution, spectral noise of 4 µg/√Hz at 100 Hz, rated to 400 g rms vibration and 1,000 g pk shock.
