Overview

The B00CG3 is a ground-isolated uniaxial IEPE shock accelerometer built on a unique piezoelectric ceramic shear structure with reduced base strain and transverse sensitivity and a resonance above 60 kHz. With 1 mV/g sensitivity and a ±5,000 g range it is a mid-range model in the family, balancing shock range and resolution for general drop and impact work. Typical uses include drop testing, crash and impact testing, package and product qualification and blast testing at lower levels.

High-quality ceramics ensure long-term stability, and a unique double-shielded construction isolates the signal ground from the test structure (≥ 10⁸ Ω) so multi-channel shock tests on conductive fixtures stay free of ground loops. The laser-welded titanium-alloy HEX 11 × 33.5 mm housing weighs 10 g and mounts on an integrated one-piece male screw, configurable as M5, M6 or 10-32, for a secure, repeatable installation, with an integral high-temperature cable exiting from the top.

Built for extreme shock

Shear-mode ceramics with a resonance ≥ 60 kHz and a ≤ 0.5 s discharge time constant capture fast transients cleanly, rated to 10,000 g pk. Reduced base strain and ≤ 5% transverse sensitivity keep the signal honest under severe impacts. Non-linearity 3%.

Ground isolated

Double-shielded construction gives ≥ 10⁸ Ω isolation between signal ground and the mounting surface, so shock tables, drop fixtures and blast rigs with many channels stay free of ground loops and electrical noise.

Integrated screw, IEPE output

One-piece integrated male mounting screw with shape-memory alloy fasteners, configurable as M5, M6 or 10-32, for strength and reliability. Built-in low-impedance circuit with 2–20 mA excitation and 8–12 V bias, spectral noise of 400 µg/√Hz at 100 Hz and 0.01 g rms broadband resolution.
