Overview
The C01B05 is a charge-mode (PE) uniaxial reference standard accelerometer built on a special piezoelectric ceramic shear structure with high year-to-year stability and very low transverse sensitivity. With 2.5 pC/g charge sensitivity, a ±5,000 g range and a ±5% response from 0.5 Hz to 10 kHz, it is the back-to-back reference for comparison calibration of other accelerometers on a shaker. Typical uses include calibration of IEPE and charge accelerometers, verification of calibration systems and shaker reference measurement in test labs.
The dual-head design carries an M6 mounting thread on the base and a second M6 (10-32 opt.) thread on top, so the sensor under test bolts directly onto the reference and both see the same motion. With no built-in electronics the C01B05 works from −50 °C to +250 °C and pairs with any charge amplifier, which sets the low-frequency limit of the system. A high-reliability structural design gives superior frequency response, and the laser-welded stainless-steel HEX 15.8 × 28 mm housing weighs 41 g, is sealed to IP68 and carries a side M5 (10-32 opt.) connector.
Why engineers choose the C01B05
Built as a reference
Special shear structure with high annual stability and ≤ 2% transverse sensitivity, so the reference itself adds as little uncertainty as possible to a comparison calibration. 1% non-linearity and a wide, flat response from 0.5 Hz to 10 kHz (±5%), 0.3 Hz to 12 kHz (±10%).
Back-to-back dual head
M6 × 7.0 mounting thread on the base for the shaker and an M6 (10-32 opt.) thread on top for the sensor under test. Rigid stainless body with a resonance ≥ 50 kHz keeps reference and test sensor moving together well beyond the calibration band. Mounting torque 3.5 N·m.
Charge mode, −50 to +250 °C
No internal electronics means nothing to drift with temperature or saturate at high levels: 480 pF capacitance and ≥ 10¹¹ Ω insulation resistance into any charge amplifier or calibration system, rated to 6,000 g rms vibration and 8,000 g pk shock.
