Charge-Mode (PE) Triaxial General-Purpose Accelerometer · 3 × M5 (10-32 opt.) · Titanium · −50 to +250 °C

Overview

The C02Y41 is a charge-mode (PE) three-axis general-purpose accelerometer built on a piezoelectric ceramic shear structure with a wide-bandwidth frequency response, reduced base strain and transverse sensitivity and a low sensitivity temperature response. With 10 pC/g charge sensitivity and a ±1,500 g range on each axis it is the smallest, highest-range member of the family, a 20 g cube with ±1,500 g on all three axes and the widest bandwidth for high-level triaxial work at temperature. Typical uses include triaxial vibration on engines, exhausts and turbochargers, shaker and environmental testing, general high-level triaxial measurement and high-temperature monitoring to +250 °C.

With no built-in electronics the sensor works from −50 °C to +250 °C and pairs with any charge amplifier, which sets the low-frequency limit of the system. High-quality ceramics ensure long-term stability and shape-memory alloy fasteners keep the shear structure stable and reliable. The laser-welded titanium-alloy 18 × 18 × 12.7 mm housing weighs 20 g, each axis has its own calibration hole, a ⌀4.1 mm center through-hole bolts the sensor down at any orientation with the insulated mounting hardware supplied, and three M5 (10-32 opt.) connectors bring out the X, Y and Z channels.

Why engineers choose the C02Y41

Three axes, one bolt

Simultaneous X, Y and Z measurement from a single 18 × 18 × 12.7 mm titanium block weighing 20 g. The ⌀4.1 mm center through-hole mounts at any angle with the insulated M4 hardware supplied, per-axis calibration holes make verification straightforward, and three M5 (10-32 opt.) connectors take standard low-noise charge cables.

Charge mode, +250 °C

No internal electronics means nothing to overheat or saturate: the C02Y41 runs continuously at +250 °C and pairs with any charge amplifier or charge-input DAQ, with 360 pF capacitance and ≥ 10¹¹ Ω insulation resistance per axis for a clean, stable charge signal.

Shear-mode piezoceramic

Shear structure with reduced base strain and shape-memory alloy fasteners gives a ±5% response from 0.5 Hz to 7 kHz (±10% over 0.3 – 8k Hz) with resonance ≥ 30 kHz, 1% non-linearity and ≤ 5% transverse sensitivity, rated to 4,000 g rms vibration and 6,000 g pk shock.

Typical applications

  • General triaxial vibration measurement
  • Modal and structural testing
  • Engine, exhaust and turbocharger vibration
  • Machinery and vehicle vibration monitoring
  • Shaker and environmental testing
  • High-temperature triaxial measurement to +250 °C
