Charge-Mode (PE) Isolated Uniaxial Shock Accelerometer · +160 °C · Integrated mounting screw

Overview

The C00CG7 is a charge-mode (PE) ground-isolated uniaxial shock accelerometer built on a unique piezoelectric ceramic shear structure with reduced base strain and transverse sensitivity and a resonance above 45 kHz. With 0.05 pC/g charge sensitivity and a ±100,000 g range it is the most extreme member of the family, a 5 g titanium sensor with a ±100,000 g range and 130,000 g pk survivability for penetration, ballistic and explosive events. Typical uses include penetrator and projectile testing, ballistic and explosive events, pyroshock qualification and the most severe impact tests where survival matters more than linearity.

With no built-in electronics the sensor works to +160 °C and pairs with any charge amplifier, which sets the low-frequency limit of the system. High-quality ceramics ensure long-term stability, shape-memory alloy fasteners keep the shear structure stable through repeated impacts, and a unique double-shielded construction isolates the signal ground (≥ 10⁸ Ω) so multi-channel shock tests on conductive fixtures stay free of ground loops. The laser-welded titanium-alloy housing weighs 5 g and mounts on an integrated one-piece male screw, configurable as M5, M6 × 0.75 or 10-32, with an integral high-temperature cable exiting from the top or side.

Why engineers choose the C00CG7

Built for extreme shock

Shear-mode ceramics with a resonance ≥ 45 kHz handle events to 130,000 g pk. Reduced base strain and ≤ 5% transverse sensitivity keep the signal honest under severe impacts, with a ±20% response over 10 – 10k Hz. Non-linearity 10%.

Ground isolated, charge output

Double-shielded construction gives ≥ 10⁸ Ω isolation between signal ground and the mounting surface, and with no internal electronics there is nothing to saturate or overheat: 18 pF capacitance and ≥ 10¹¹ Ω insulation resistance into any charge amplifier, to +160 °C.

Integrated screw, integral cable

One-piece integrated male mounting screw with shape-memory alloy fasteners, configurable as M5, M6 × 0.75 or 10-32, torqued to 3.0 – 3.5 N·m. Integral high-temperature cable in a top-exit (HEX 10 × 23.5 mm) or side-exit (HEX 11 × 20.4 mm) housing.

Typical applications

  • Drop testing
  • Blast and pyroshock testing
  • Ballistic, penetration and explosive events
  • Munitions and ordnance qualification
  • Multi-channel shock tests on conductive fixtures
  • High-temperature shock measurement to +160 °C
