Overview
The B09BG3 is a miniature electrically isolated IEPE accelerometer with a built-in miniature impedance converter that conditions the piezoelectric charge signal to a low-impedance voltage output, with excellent long-term output stability and repeatability. With 500 mV/g sensitivity and a ±10 g range it is the 500 mV/g member of the family, with ±10 g and 0.00002 g rms resolution for low-level vibration on lightly excited structures. Typical uses include modal analysis of large or lightly excited structures, low-level NVH, building and foundation vibration and multi-point measurements on conductive structures.
The built-in IEPE circuit runs from any 2–20 mA constant-current source with an 8–12 V bias. The laser-welded titanium-alloy 22.7 × 15.4 × 10 mm housing weighs just 11 g and is sealed to IP68, and a ⌀3.1 mm central through-hole (M3 optional) lets it sit on a stud mount at any rotation, torqued to 1.6 N·m, so the M5 side (10-32 opt.) connector can face the cable run. The sensor is electrically isolated from the mounting surface (≥ 10⁸ Ω) with the supplied adapter screw and isolated washer, so multi-channel modal arrays on conductive bodies stay free of ground loops.
Why engineers choose the B09BG3
Isolated from the structure
Electrical isolation of ≥ 10⁸ Ω from the mounting surface, using the supplied adapter screw and M3 isolated washer, means dozens of channels can be bolted to a car body or machine frame without ground loops corrupting the modal data.
360° through-hole mount
A ⌀3.1 mm central through-hole (M3 optional) sits on a stud mount at any rotation, so the side connector can point along the cable run at every measurement point. Small and light at 11 g and 22.7 × 15.4 × 10 mm, it adds little mass to panels and light structures. Mounting base H01D13.
Built-in IEPE electronics
Shear-mode piezoceramic with a built-in impedance converter: ±5% response from 1 Hz to 8 kHz (±10% over 0.5 – 10k Hz), resonance ≥ 40 kHz, 0.00002 g rms broadband resolution, rated to 3,000 g rms vibration and 5,000 g pk shock.
