N02B00 — Modal Impact Hammer, 450 lbf Range
The N02B00 is the mid-range configuration, with a sensitivity of 11.1 mV/lbf (2.5 mV/N) and a measurement range of ≤450 lbf pk (≤2.0 kN pk). Resolution is 0.14 lbf (0.62 N). This range covers most machined components, sub-assemblies, brackets, and medium-sized frames encountered in general modal testing, structure health testing, and resonance identification.
The sensing element is quartz with a built-in IEPE circuit (20–30 VDC excitation, 2–20 mA constant current, 8–12 V output bias, <100 Ω output impedance) and a ±5 V full-scale output. Sensor resonance is ≥40 kHz; non-linearity and repeatability are each ≤1%. Overload capacity is 120% of range; settling time is >180 s.
Supplied carbide, nylon, and rubber tips control input pulse width for broadband or band-limited excitation, and the 73.5 g extender mass increases pulse energy at low frequencies. Construction is stainless steel with epoxy sealing, rated for −55 to 120 °C (−67 to 248 °F). Head mass is 158 g, with a BNC connector and 10-32 mounting thread.
