N03B00 — Modal Impact Hammer, 112 lbf Range
The N03B00 is the high-sensitivity configuration, with an output of 44.5 mV/lbf (10.0 mV/N) and a measurement range of ≤112 lbf pk (≤0.5 kN pk). Resolution is 0.04 lbf (0.18 N), allowing accurate force measurement at the low impact amplitudes appropriate for small and lightweight structures — PCBs, small machined parts, blades, and thin panels. Typical factory calibration data shows linearity of R² = 0.9999 across the measurement range.
Sensing is by quartz element with a built-in IEPE circuit (20–30 VDC excitation, 2–20 mA constant current, 8–12 V output bias, <100 Ω output impedance) and ±5 V full-scale output. Sensor resonance is ≥40 kHz; non-linearity and repeatability are each ≤1%. Overload capacity is 120% of range. Settling time is >30 s, the shortest in the series.
Interchangeable carbide, nylon, and rubber tips set the excitation bandwidth, and a 73.5 g extender mass is included. Housing is stainless steel with epoxy sealing, rated −55 to 120 °C (−67 to 248 °F). Head mass is 158 g, with a BNC connector and 10-32 mounting thread.
