N01B00 — Modal Impact Hammer, 1,111 lbf Range

The N01B00 is the high-force configuration of the NXXB00 modal impact hammer, with a sensitivity of 4.5 mV/lbf (1.01 mV/N) and a measurement range of ≤1,111 lbf pk (≤4.9 kN pk). The low sensitivity keeps the output within the ±5 V full-scale range at high impact amplitudes, making this model suited to structures that require large input forces to achieve adequate excitation — heavy machine frames, large castings, and stiff welded assemblies.

Force is sensed by a quartz element with a built-in IEPE circuit (20–30 VDC excitation, 2–20 mA constant current, 8–12 V output bias, <100 Ω output impedance). Sensor resonance is ≥40 kHz, with non-linearity and repeatability each ≤1% of full scale. Resolution is 0.35 lbf (2.0 N); overload capacity is 120% of range. Settling time is >360 s.

The hammer ships with carbide, nylon, and rubber tips and a 73.5 g extender mass for adjusting pulse duration and excitation bandwidth. Housing is stainless steel with epoxy sealing; operating temperature range is −55 to 120 °C (−67 to 248 °F). Head mass is 158 g, with a BNC output connector and 10-32 mounting thread.
