Overview
The N01B00 is a lightweight, compact modal impact hammer with a built-in IEPE quartz force sensor, offering fast dynamic response, high natural frequency, high resolution and low electrical noise. With 1.01 mV/N (4.5 mV/lbf) sensitivity and a ≤ 4.9 kN pk (≤ 1,111 lbf pk) range it is the highest-range hammer in the family, with a 4.9 kN (1,111 lbf) range for exciting stiffer machine frames, castings and medium-sized structures. Typical uses include modal testing of machine frames, machined castings and fixtures, structural health checks on medium-sized assemblies and resonance identification where higher force is needed.
The quartz sensing element gives ≤ 1% non-linearity and ≤ 1% repeatability with a resonance ≥ 40 kHz, so the force pulse is captured faithfully, and the built-in IEPE circuit outputs a ±5 V full-scale signal on a standard BNC connector that plugs straight into any IEPE-compatible analyzer or DAQ. Carbide, nylon and rubber tips plus a 73.5 g extender mass ship in the case, so one hammer covers hard, short impacts for high-frequency content through soft, long impacts for low-frequency excitation on the same structure.
Why engineers choose the N01B00
Tips for every frequency range
Interchangeable carbide, nylon and rubber tips shape the impact pulse from a hard, high-frequency tap to a soft, low-frequency push, and the 73.5 g extender mass adds energy for larger structures. All ship in the portable case.
Clean, repeatable force pulse
Quartz sensing element with ≥ 40 kHz resonance, ≤ 1% non-linearity and ≤ 1% repeatability. 2.0 N (0.35 lbf) resolution and 120% overload capacity, with a settling time of > 360 s between impacts.
Built-in IEPE electronics
IEPE circuit with 2–20 mA constant-current excitation, 8–12 V bias and a ±5 V full-scale output on a BNC connector, so the hammer runs from the same IEPE input as your accelerometers. Stainless-steel head with epoxy sealing, rated −55 to +120 °C.
