Overview
The B00Y55 is a watertight three-axis IEPE accelerometer built on a piezoelectric ceramic shear structure with a wide-band frequency response. With 2.5 mV/g sensitivity and a ±2,000 g range it is the mid-range model in the family, with ±2,000 g for high-level vibration and moderate shock on submerged or wet structures. Typical uses include underwater vibration and shock testing, marine propulsion and hull vibration, offshore equipment monitoring and high-level tests in humid conditions.
A one-piece vulcanized 6-pin polyurethane cable withstands longitudinal and transverse water pressure above 3 MPa and is inherently resistant to moisture and corrosion, so there is no connector to flood. The built-in low-impedance circuit sits inside a double-layer shielded construction that isolates the signal ground (≥ 10⁸ Ω) for strong interference immunity, low noise and a well-behaved temperature response. The laser-welded low-density titanium-alloy 27 × 27 × 15 mm housing weighs 60 g, uses memory-alloy fasteners for a stable, reliable structure, and bolts down through two M4 through-holes.
Why engineers choose the B00Y55
Sealed for immersion and corrosion
Laser-welded titanium housing sealed to IP68 with a one-piece vulcanized cable rated above 3 MPa in both directions and inherently resistant to moisture and corrosion. Rated to 5,000 g rms vibration and 8,000 g pk shock, −50 to +120 °C.
Three axes, double shielded
Simultaneous X, Y and Z from a single 27 × 27 × 15 mm block with ≤ 5% transverse sensitivity. Double-layer shielding isolates the signal ground (≥ 10⁸ Ω) and rejects interference on long cable runs to the surface.
Built for high levels
Shear-mode ceramics with a ≥ 30 kHz resonance and a ≤ 0.5 s discharge time constant handle ±2,000 g events cleanly. Built-in IEPE circuit with 2–20 mA excitation and 8–12 V bias, spectral noise of 160 µg/√Hz at 100 Hz and 0.004 g rms broadband resolution.
